Cookies Policy

Effective: 10 May 2026 · Version 1.0

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how cineme.ai uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local-storage). It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle the personal data we collect overall.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They're often used to remember preferences (so you don't have to log in every time), to keep your shopping cart between page loads, or to track behaviour across sites. The same legal framework (UK PECR and EU ePrivacy law) also covers other client-side storage such as localStorage and sessionStorage, so we cover those here too.

3. Our approach: as few as possible

We use as little client-side storage as we reasonably can. We do not use any advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics that profile individual visitors.

4. What we currently use

Name Type Purpose Lifetime Consent needed?
cineme_consent Local-storage Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice so we don't show it again on every visit. Persistent (until you clear your browser data). No — strictly necessary.

That's it. The site does not currently set any other cookies or storage. If we add any in the future (for example, lightweight analytics), we will update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before we set them.

5. Third-party connections

Some of our pages connect to third-party services to load resources. None of these set cookies on cineme.ai for tracking purposes, but you may want to know they exist:

  • Google Fonts — we load the Inter typeface from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Per Google's documentation, these endpoints do not set cookies and do not log identifying information about font requests.
  • jsDelivr — on our Cannes page (/cannes), we load the qrcode-generator JavaScript library from the public jsDelivr CDN. No cookies are set.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider. Vercel does not set tracking cookies on our site. Vercel may keep short-lived server logs that include IP addresses for operational and security purposes.

6. How to control or remove cookies

You can clear cookies and local-storage at any time using your browser's settings. The exact steps depend on which browser you use — these guides may help:

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari (macOS)
  • Safari (iOS)
  • Microsoft Edge

If you clear the cineme_consent entry, our cookie notice will appear again on your next visit.

7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because we don't use tracking cookies or behavioural advertising, "Do Not Track" and "Global Privacy Control" signals are not relevant to anything we currently do. We will revisit this if that ever changes.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if we add new technologies that fall under it. The version and effective date at the top will change when we do.

9. Contact

If you have a question about cookies on cineme.ai, email privacy@cineme.ai.

Note for the team: if you add Vercel Web Analytics, PostHog, Plausible, or any other tool that uses storage or transmits visitor data, this page must be updated and (for non-essential storage) the cookie banner needs an explicit accept/reject step before the script runs. UK ICO guidance is unambiguous on this.
